Jeri Ryan Talks To UPN News

Voyager star Jeri Ryan would be happy to see some of Seven of Nine's figure-hugging cat suits again. But would she wear them? The answer is a resounding no. "They wouldn't give me the clothes. I was gunning for a bonfire, quite frankly, with the clothes," she said.
The actress' comments came in an interview for "UPN 9 News" which aired in New York last night. She spoke about her favourite moments from the show, which member of the cast she will miss most, and "ransacking the bridge" for her souvenir shopping spree.
Despite the fact that Ryan has been dating former Voyager executive producer Brannon Braga for two years now, she was not privy to any secrets about the show's final episode. "[He] didn't bring the script home, didn't show me. He was very closed about the whole thing." She was likewise very guarded when asked about 'Endgame,' the episode which marks the end of Voyager's seven year journey home, but she did reveal that there are some surprises in store for the former Borg. "I think we've covered everything with her, especially the way the series is ending... There were a few surprises. But I'm not telling you what they are!"
Ryan is very pleased with the way her character has developed over the four years she has been a part of the crew. "Going from completely nonhuman to experiencing rebellious adolescence to reliving second childhood with Naomi," she explained. "Learning how to play and be child-like, developing real friendships, feeling maternal feelings, falling in love." Her favourite episodes were ones that heavily featured Seven. "My favourites are always the ones where you really explore the character. I loved our 100th episode, 'Timeless.' 'Dark Frontier,' the first time you see Seven of Nine with the Borg Queen. 'Human Error' from this season."
The actress has not left Voyager completely behind, however. She ransacked the bridge for souvenirs. "I have taken a bunch of the consoles. I took the aft station where I sat at, behind the captain's and commander's chair... I also took the Borg alcove!"
Seven of Nine has shared many of her new human experiences with Neelix, played by Ethan Phillips. Their scenes together in the fourth season episode 'Mortal Coil' remain one of the series memorable highlights. Ryan said that Phillips is the cast member she will miss the most. "That was my single saddest moment on the set, when I had my last scene with him."
More memorable Neelix scenes are on the way in next week's new episode 'Homestead.' In it, the crew encounters a colony of Talaxians who are suffering under the oppression of mercenaries. It is up to Neelix to help protect his people. The UPN interview with Ryan featured a small clip from the episode, which is transcribed below.
- NEELIX'S HOMECOMING IS NOT WHAT HE EXPECTED, BUT PREPARE TO BE SURPRISED.
