Site Columns

Hello World!
Oh dear.
Not yet a week into the job and I'm already making horrible mistakes.
For those who missed it, yesterday I committed one of the greatest infractions for a Star Trek web site. Yes, despite seven years of Voyager addiction, I still believed that the actress who plays B'Elanna Torres spelled her name 'Roxanne Dawson.' Quite why, I have no idea. I'm a Brit, and everyone knows that we can't spell, right?
Rest assured that I was swiftly chastised for my actions and served on a platter to a raging hoard of Tarcassian razor beasts. Fortunately for me, they had already eaten, and they let me go on condition that I do not re-offend. With my spelling track record, I'll be lucky to get to the end of the week without becoming dinner. And yes, I am aware that today is Friday.
Greetings all, I'm Lis, a strange yet wonderful creature from England with an addiction to Voyager, chocolate and the odd computer game. I have been told I have a strange sense of humour. It's highly unlikely that any TrekToday regulars will have met me before, but I have been around a little bit.
I'm one of the administrators over at the Trek BBS where I've been a member for almost as long as I can remember. I'll happily admit that the best damn cult dedicated to a fictional character on the internet, The J Team was my idea. I also turned up in the team for the defence at the Captain Janeway Court Marshal trial here at the Trek Nation a little while ago. Needless to say, I'm a pretty big Captain Janeway fan.
Unlike my good friend Caillan I do have plenty of electrical devices with a grudge against me, so I have plenty of complaining material for these columns. I'm sure everyone is relieved to hear that.
With that, I'll leave you with my sincere apologies for my spelling lapses, and the useful end of these site columns.

Trek Two Years Ago
Below are some of the most important Trek Today headlines from From Wednesday, the 5th of May, 1999:
- Bryan Fuller Chat Transcript
Voyager staff writer Bryan Fuller took part in a live chat at TrekWeb. In it, he revealed the startling news that Voyager would not be returning any time soon, when asked if Voyager would get back to earth. Two years later and almost at the end of the ship's epic journey, I and many other fans would like to know the answer to the same question.
- Ron Moore Transfer Confirmed
In the same chat, Fuller confirmed that Ronald D. Moore was now working on Star Trek Voyager. At the time Moore was working on "a B'Elanna episode" which later of course, turned out to be 'Barge of the Dead.' Moore worked on two Voyager episodes; 'Barge of the Dead' and 'Survival Instinct' before leaving the show. He was recently involved in an attempt to bring Anne McAffrey's 'Dragonriders of Pern' to television screens.
- New Voyager Spoilers
New information came to light about the 5th season finale, "Equinox." The source revealed "It is a cliffhanger, with one of the aliens coming right at Janeway in the last shot." Of course, with two years worth of hindsight, we know he was absolutely correct.
