Hello World!
Yes, we're really gripped with Goodwill Games fever here in Brisbane - or that's what the advertisers would like to believe, anyway.
Today, walking through the city, I discovered that the Myer Centre has been designated the "official shopping centre" of the games. But what does this mean, exactly? Are the athletes forced to do all their shopping there?
The shopping centre is now decked out with corny posters saying "The Gods Of Sport In Our Own Backyard." But surely immortals don't need to shop?

Trek Two Years Ago
These were some of the major news headlines on August 4th, 1999:
- 'Alice' Episode Rumour
The first spoilers for the Voyager episode 'Alice' emerged. "An Alien Spacecraft that is possesed tries to manipulate Paris," read the report. "Paris dumps B'Elanna to go deal with this spaceship. However, this is not the end of the Paris/Torres relationship!" 'Alice' did indeed turn out to be about a spacecraft (played in human form by Claire Rankin) that takes control of Paris's life. - 'Men Cry Bullets' Interview
Honey Lauren, star of the film 'Men Cry Bullets' talked to Michelle Erica Green about the movie, including her work with Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine). "Jeri Ryan is completely different in this film than in anything she's ever done," she said, "too much of Hollywood is about breasts, or the big blonde thing. Lynn - her name is Jeri Lynn, I always called her Lynn - is really a great actress. I was blown away by her work. We had a real mutual respect for each other, and we got along really well. She's so funny in this film, I had nothing but a good time talking to her and I think we helped each other."More news can be found in the archives.
