Stewart To Open On Broadway This Fall

A new Broadway production of Harold Pinter's The Caretaker, starring Patrick Stewart, Kyle MacLachlan and Aiden Gillen, is scheduled to begin previews at the American Airlines Theatre on October 24, 2003 for its opening on November 9.

Playbill reports that the play will have a limited engagement through January 4, 2004.

The Caretaker will mark the Broadway debuts of both MacLachlan, best known for the television series Twin Peaks, and Gillen, who has appeared onstage in London and earned attention in the U.S. for Queer As Folk.

Stewart has starred on Broadway in Shakespearean productions as well as his one-man production of A Christmas Carol.

As previously reported, David Jones will direct the play. Jones previously directed Pinter's No Man's Land for Roundabout.
