By T'BonzNovember 8, 2008 - 8:23 PM
The new Star Trek: The Experience will be similar in some ways to the former one, but with modern updates.
As reported by Inbusinesslasvegas.com, the owners of Neonopolis, the future home of Star Trek: The Experience expect it to be a big draw. "The museum and the arts center will represent the past and the present and the 'Star Trek Experience' will represent the future," said Rohit Joshi, representative for the owner of Neonopolis.
The Experience is slated to have five components, most of which could be ready by next year. There will be a food and beverage component which is expected to include a restaurant and lounge. Another component will be a retail area with merchandise. The merchandise will be from all of the various Star Trek series.
The other three components of The Experience will be: a museum that explores Star Trek history, a 4-D movie theater that will be an interactive experience, with high-tech seats to "stimulate the senses," and simulators.
According to Joshi, there is sufficient funds to pay for the product and permission has been obtained from CBS Pictures, who owns the rights to Star Trek.
