Hello World!

Though none of you are yet able to see it, this news item is actually the first item to appear using the new TrekToday news updater. For the next few days, until the site move is completed, I'll be first updating the new site and then transfering all the news to the old design, which is what you're seeing now.

I hadn't actually planned to already start doing this now, but unfortunately my laptop sort of died on me so I was forced to start using this method of updating news. For some really strange reason, my laptop now refuses to boot correctly when an external keyboard is plugged in - if one is, I do hear the machine accessing the CD-ROM drive and doing all the other things it does at boot, but then it doesn't display anything on the screen and also doesn't sound as if it's doing anything anymore. On top of that, when that happens I'm unable to turn off the laptop using the power button, and have to disconnect both the adapter and the battery (!) to finally make it stop. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the laptop to make it act this way? If so, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know!

Today On TV

-In the United States, the Sci-Fi Channel will be showing the Original Series episode 'The Deadly Years' at 4:00pm Eastern Time.

-In Canada, the Sci-Fi Channel will be showing the Original Series' 'Turnabout Intruder' at 10:00am and at 4:00pm Eastern Time, and DS9's 'Family Business' at 10:00pm.

-In Germany, Sat.1 will be showing Voyager's 'Der Verräter' at 15:00 CET.
