First Enterprise Dialogue Online

Just when you thought there was nothing left to spoil, along comes yet another 'Broken Bow' script review. Its twist? The first Enterprise dialogue.

According to Michael Hinman of the SyFy Portal, Enterprise will showcase a considerable amount of animosity between Captain Archer and Sub-Commander T'Pol. The following exchange of dialogue shows that their relationship will be rocky to say the least. "While you may not share our enthusiasm about this mission, I expect you to follow our rules," says Archer. "What's said in this room and out on that bridge is classified... privileged information. I don't want every word I say being picked apart the next day by the Vulcan High Command."

"My reason for being here is not espionage," T'Pol responds. "My superiors simply asked me to assist you." "Your superiors don't think we can flush a toilet without one of you to 'assist' us." "I didn't request this assignment, Captain," T'Pol replies. "And you can be certain that when the mission's over, I'll be as pleased to leave this ship as you'll be to have me go."

The review also revealed T'Pol's responsibility to the Vulcans. At one point, she says "If anything happens to either of you, the Vulcan High Command will hold me responsible." Stoic to the last, this responsibility supersedes her concern for the others on the ship. Or so she maintains.

Even before the Enterprise gets underway, there will be problems for Archer, as not all his crew are eager to blast off into space. Communications Officer Hoshi Sato will be determined to stay on Earth. "I'm sorry, Captain. I owe it to these kids," she tells him, resisting his pleading. "I could order you," Archer responds, but Sato refuses again. "I'm on leave from Starfleet, remember? You'd have to forcibly recall me, which would require a reprimand which would disqualify me from serving on an active vessel." Archer is resolute: "I need someone with your ear." But so is Sato: "And you'll have her - in three weeks."
