Hello World!
Ouch. As I've often mentioned before, I'm being haunted by road reconstruction crews, with the nearest three roads all having turned into either big pools of mud or huge piles of stones. Today, we had another version - relatively flat sand surface, with some road bricks scattered around. As I had to hurry somewhere, I wasn't paying attention very well, so after falling over one of those bricks and twisting my right ankle, my foot has now been transformed into one huge black-and-blue bruise. Perhaps I should sue.
Meanwhile, in between dying of pain and forcing myself to get a few words typed, I managed to figure out why Amazon still isn't making any money - they're giving far too much away. Not only are they offering free (US) delivery during the Christmas holidays, but I've also received gift certificates from both the US and the UK version of the site, and if I put up a special holiday season affiliate button here at TrekToday, I'll get another $10 gift certificate. Surely this isn't a business model that makes any sense? I know it's important to win over new customers, so I can see why they'd offer them discounts during Christmas time, but then also giving up any hopes you may have had about profiting from your current customers doesn't seem like such a great move. But maybe they're just trying to cause people to rush out and buy lots of stuff at the site because they fear it will go bankrupt - I know I'm almost reacting that way.
