Blalock Talks 'Daredevil' Audition

Jolene Blalock yesterday spoke about the dramatic step she took to impress castors at her audition for the part of Elektra in the 'Daredevil' movie - but trade papers suggested her efforts may well have been futile.
"I like to go all out for auditions," said Blalock, who had to dye her hair brown for the audition, told reporters at UPN's winter press tour in Pasadena (via the Sci Fi Wire). "I rather enjoy auditions. And they asked to see me brown. So I went brown."
The actress said that she has not yet been informed about a decision on the role, and hoped to hear sometime this week. But a report in Variety indicated the role has been cast.
The trade paper reported that Golden Globe-nominated Alias star Jennifer Garner is in negotiations for the role, and is expected to close a deal quickly. Blalock and Garner are amongst four actresses who have been linked with the coveted role (story). Variety also reported that Irish actor Colin Farrell is in negotiations for the role of Bullseye.
The character of Elektra is the former girlfriend of the main character and titular 'Daredevil.' She was kidnapped as a child, brought into the seedy world of organised crime and became an assassin. She holds a grudge against Daredevil, to be played by Ben Affleck in the movie, who she holds responsible for the murder of her father.
Whether she gets the part or not, Blalock said she enjoyed the audition process. "I loved being in that room," she explained. "It's all about meeting those people, getting into that room, because, you know what? You're going to run into them again. So, it doesn't mean I'm going to get the job. God, I hope, you know? But who knows? I can't hold too tightly. But I love auditioning. I love walking into that room and reading for those people and leaving something good and feeling good leaving that room."
