Online Trek Game Coming To StarTrek.com

The official Star Trek Continuum is set to expand in a rather major way - they'll be the official site to play 'Star Trek: ConQuest Online', a new online-only program currently being developed Genetic Anomalies. 'Conquest Online', which will be published by Activision, is a turn-based game in which players assume the role of a member of the Q Continuum, and will then have to compete with other Qs for supremacy over the Star Trek universe. To do this they'll be able to utilise a vast variety of collectable, Star Trek-based 'pieces', presumably similar in concept to collectible cards such as 'Magic: The Gathering' and of course the Star Trek Customisable Card Game. Here's part of the game description up at the Continuum:
During each turn, players deploy a piece, or a combination of pieces in an effort to outwit their opponent. There are character pieces (for example, Picard or Worf), ship pieces (like the U.S.S. Enterprise or a Borg Cube), and weapon pieces (such as phasers or Bat'leths). Players can add to their arsenal by purchasing additional pieces (at stores or via download), or by trading pieces with other players. These "virtual game pieces" are collectible and have real monetary value. Genetic Anomalies' patented Collectible Bits(TM) technology ensures secure and safe ownership.
Players begin with a pre-determined set of pieces, drawn from more than 150 Star Trek characters, weapons and ships, each with varying abilities and value. Each player uses their pieces to first take control of the planets and systems in their quadrant, as well as to attack and fend off their opponents. A player wins by seizing control of the challenger's home planet and capturing their Q or by holding off their opponent for long enough to win by racking up points.
According to the full article, the game will be available in retail stores and online for a price of $29.99.
