Mediocre 'Child's Play' Ratings
By ChristianMarch 15, 2000 - 10:50 PM
Greg Fuller at the Star Trek Nielsen Ratings Information Database has put up his final ratings report for 'Child's Play', last week's new Voyager epiosde. Unfortunately, news again isn't that great:
With Voyager's recent slips, "Get Real" has remained in a solid 4th place in the timeslot, coming up with a 3.8/6 this week. "Roswell" has remained fairly weak competition, only pulling in a 2.0 rating. The WB is planning to move "Roswell" out of the tough 9 p.m. Wednesday slot and into another timeslot with no sci-fi competition. "WWF Smackdown!" was also off its season mark, falling to a 4.5 to lead UPN.
"Child's Play" stayed flat from last week, keeping Voyager's ratings in the land of mediocrity with a 3.4 rating, 5 share. That's level from "Ashes to Ashes" and down from last year's "Course: Oblivion," which aired the week following the end of February sweeps. "Child's Play" was also off from the dropping season average.
In his full report, Greg speculates that these disappointing ratings may predict another terrible ratings performance at the end of the season, just like happened last year. For the final episodes of last year, the series achieved ratings which were in the low 3s, and in the case of 'The Fight' even a 2.9. More on Voyager's performance near the end of last season can be found in the Nielsen Ratings Information Database's report archives.
