StarTrek.com Top Site Among Podcast Video Fans

StarTrek.com is the most visited content site among people who download video podcasts, a recent report revealed.
CNet quoted data gathered by Nielsen for NetRatings, which showed Macworld as the top-visited site among audio podcast users and StarTrek.com as number one among those who seek video content. The survey had been conducted since 2005.
Respondents revealed that more than half of them used the internet to pay bills, while over 90% went online for e-mail. Only 4% had downloaded video podcasts within 30 days of taking the survey, while 71.5% had read news online.
Michael Lanz, a Nielsen/NetRatings analyst, said, "We can expect to see [podcast downloading] become increasingly popular as portable content media players proliferate." The article suggested that Trekkies and Apple users would be the most appropriate targets for podcast content since they are already using it, with those in the 18-14 age range twice as likely to download podcasts as the average adult user. Curiously, Nike's online store finished ahead of iTunes among visited sites.
