Star Trek XI Casting

The names of the actresses playing Winona Kirk and an Orion woman are now known.

As reported at The Trek Movie Report, the part of Winona Kirk, mother to the future Captain James T. Kirk, will be filled by Jennifer Morrison known for playing Dr. Allison Cameron on House.

Rachel Nichols will be playing an Orion female, although there is no word as to whether she will be an Orion slave girl. Nichols is known for her role on J.J. Abrams's Alias where she played the character of Rachel Gibson.

Paul McGillion of Stargate Atlantis (Dr. Carson Beckett) will also have a small role in Star Trek XI. Paul was mum on the precise details, only willing to offer that "It was really great to be offered a part in Star Trek and a thrill to work with JJ Abrams who is an absolute class act."
