By MichelleDecember 20, 2006 - 10:36 PM
Reports surfaced that producer J.J. Abrams intends to work with frequent collaborator Scott Chambliss on Star Trek XI.
TrekMovie.com, which has a link to a clip of Chambliss and Abrams from the Mission: Impossible 3 DVD, quoted unnamed sources as saying that Abrams had picked Chambliss to lead the design team for the eleventh Star Trek movie.
Chambliss - an Emmy winner for art direction for Abrams' Alias - has worked with the director on Felicity as well as M:I-3. He has also won the Art Directors Guild Excellence In Production Design award.
Abrams and Chambliss are reportedly already working on designs for the proposed film, which has not yet been greenlit by the studio. Herman F. Zimmerman was the production designer on all of the Next Generation films.
The original report is here.
