Quark Answers Questions

Armin Shimerman (Quark) recently answered a varied mix of questions from fans in an online chat.

"I would be honoured to be in Star Trek again," he told fans (via a chat transcript at STARTREK.COM). "Of course I would love to play Quark again, but I would be intrigued by playing another character."

His favorite line that he's had to utter in Star Trek actually comes from TNG, not DS9. "As Letek, I said, 'Then it is true, you work with your females, arm them and force them to wear clothing!' But, that said, I was privileged to say a lot of wonderful lines on Deep Space Nine. I will talk for Michael [Piller], Ira [Steven Behr], Ron [Moore], René [Echevarria] and Hans [Beimler] anytime."

He also took the opportunity for some playful swipes at his DS9 co-stars. What was it like working with Rene Auberjonois (Odo)? "With Rene? A pain in the ass," said Armin. And would the cast like to travel in space? Armin thinks not. "Oh God, no! Most of the cast of Deep Space Nine hates to fly. Except for Michael Dorn [Worf], who's just plane/plain crazy."
