UK Star Trek Mag Features Berman & Burton

The tenth anniversary edition of the official British Star Trek Magazine features new revelations about Rick Berman's Star Trek XI project, as well as wistful by LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge) about the Trek XI that will never be.
"It's going to be a huge, sweeping story dealing with all-new characters and dealing with a very specific incident and period of time," Berman told the magazine. "It truly will entail a big budget and a great sense of scope, and I'm hoping that this project will come to frution."
Berman's comments are part of an interview included in issue 120 of Titan Publishing's Star Trek Magazine, which also features a celebration of the magazine's ten-year history. "This issue may be tinged with sadness at the cancellation of Star Trek: Enterprise, the cast and crew on the show have been simply wonderful - but for us the saga continues," editor John Freeman said. "Star Trek's much bigger than one show and our readership reflects that."
Besides the anniversary celebration, the magazine has interviews with Anthony Montgomery (Travis Mayweather), George Takei (Hikaru Sulu) and LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge). In this last interview, the TNG actor also briefly touched upon Trek XI.
"I wish we'd had the opportunity to go out consciously, to go out our way, to really make The Magnificent Seven or The Seven Samurai," he told the Magazine (via Sci-Fi Pulse). "The Original cast got that with Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and it was terrific. [...] But you know what? At least the end of the day, the family that is ST: TNG will be close as long as we're all here, whether we're making movies or not."
More from Burton can be found in issue 120 of the Star Trek Magazine, now available in the United Kingdom. Head over to the magazine's official web site to find out ordering information and further details on the contents of the magazine.
