Quinto On Spock

According to Zachary Quinto, his portrayal of Spock is based on more than the characterization of the Vulcan as played by Leonard Nimoy.
As reported by the Sci Fi Wire, Quinto's Spock was based as much on the Star Trek XI script as it was on Nimoy's past portrayal of the character. "I really felt like my relationship to the character was specific to the text I was playing and to the world in which the character is being created right now, this time," said Quinto, speaking at the Television Critics Association Press Tour held recently in Beverly Hills, California.
"...I didn't feel beholden to Leonard, other than to honor the origins of what he created, obviously," said Quinto. "But I think the whole project was based in that philosophy, so it wasn't a problem."
Quinto's Star Trek XI Spock character image is now available as a downloadable wallpaper or icon at the official site located here. There are also wallpapers and icons for Chris Pine's Kirk, Zoe Saldana's Uhura and Eric Bana's Nero. They can be found under the "download" section of the website.
When asked what he thought about his poster and those of his castmates, Quinto said, "I think it looks great. I think it's a really cool concept to bring them all together."
