Stewart To Bring Award-Winning 'Macbeth' To US

Patrick Stewart's Macbeth, which earned rave reviews at the Chichester Festival and in London (story), will come to the Brooklyn Academy of Music in February 2008.
The Society of London Theatre reported that Stewart and his Lady Macbeth, Kate Fleetwood, have committed to a six-week run in the US following a break for the winter holidays.
Rupert Goold directed the production, currently at London's Gielgud Theatre where it will close on the first of December. Goold also directed Stewart as Prospero in The Tempest last spring.
What's On Stage reported that Stewart has won the award for Best Performance in a Play at the 2007 TMA Awards, which celebrate regional theatre. At a ceremony held at London’s Hampstead Theatre, Stewart was honoured for the Chichester production of Macbeth.
Stewart has announced plans to appear as Claudius alongside David Tennant in a production of Hamlet next season (story).
