Star Trek editor Marco Palmieri of Pocket Books has announced several original Star Trek novels and miniseries books planned for 2005-6.
Writing in the Trek Literature forum of the Trek BBS, Palmieri promised two standalone novels, a trilogy and a fortieth anniversary anthology.
Christopher L. Bennett is writing Ex Machina, a novel set shortly after the events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. It is scheduled to be released in January 2005.
Margaret Wander Bonanno, who wrote several Trek novels and film adaptations, is writing a novel "which promises to be the definitive tale of Captain Christopher Pike", according to Palmieri.
"It will be published in 2006 as part of the fortieth anniversary celebration of The Original Series," he said.
DS9 writer and novelist David R. George III is writing a fortieth anniversary trilogy to be published in 2006. The same year will see the publication of a fortieth anniversary original series anthology.
The original announcement is here.
