After stories focusing on familiar faces such as the Klingons and Vulcans earlier this season, the NX-01 crew is reportedly set to encounter a brand-new Trek race in an upcoming Enterprise episode.

'Canamar' will see Enterprise find an Enolian prison ship, according to FilmJerk.com. The site did not report any further details about the episode, which has not yet been officially announced by Paramount Pictures.

The word 'Canamar' appears to be an Hispanic surname, so the title could refer to a person, or it could be the name of the ship. The Enolians have not been mentioned in any previous Star Trek episode, adding them to the list of alien races, such as the Suliban ('Broken Bow' et al.), Xyrillians ('Unexpected'), Akaali ('Civilization') and Vakalians ('Dear Doctor' ), which Enterprise has introduced to Trek lore.

Although the report did not indicate 'Canamar's' place in the production order, it is possible the episode is Enterprise's seventeenth season two outing, about which no details are currently known. This would place the episode between 'Crash Landing', currently set to air on February 19, 2003, and 'The Crossing', which has not yet been officially confirmed.

Please bear in mind that this information has not yet been officially confirmed by Paramount Pictures and until such time you should treat it as you would any other rumour.

The original report can be found here at FilmJerk.
