- Over at Fandom.com, Frank Garcia has put up a preview of Strange New Worlds III, the fan short story anthology scheduled to be published by Pocket Books in May. The preview consists of a description of the previous books, and also includes several quotes from editor Dean Wesley Smith, including this one about having to sort through over 4000 submissions for the contest:
"There were about 500 of them out of the thousands that I have to actually spend a lot of time considering," says Smith. "They're not immediately rejectable because of the quality or something good enough. I call that my second read pile. Those are the ones that made the first cut. Then I cut it down to about 50. Then it's really hard. I have 50 stories that I think are pretty good enough to be in this anthology. Now, I'll pick the top 20. And that's what has happened every year."
- Michelle Erica Green at AnotherUniverse has put up an interview with Andrew Robinson, talking to the actor who portrayed Garak about his 'A Stitch In Time' book, the conflict between Rick Berman and Ira Steven Behr on where Garak should end up, and the other projects Robinson is working on.
- And Mark Armstrong at E! Online has put up an article about what is probably the best-orchestrated fan campaign since the Online Freedom Federation, namely the Excelsior Campaign trying to persuade Paramount to produce a Captain Sulu series. You can read the article, which also contains a few quotes from George Takei (Hikaru Sulu) himself, here.
