Manga Trek May Be On the Way

An anime publisher may bring a Star Trek manga series to comic stores.

AnimeOnDVD.com reported that Jake Forbes from Tokyopop had stopped by the forums to discuss the company's announcement at Wizard World LA that it would team up with a Japanese publisher to release a manga anthology based on Star Trek.

The comic series is expected to be set in The Next Generation era.

Cinescape added that ICv2 had said that the project was very near to receiving approval from Paramount Pictures.

None of the artists have been named yet. Tokyopop told ICV2 that an announcement would be forthcoming when the deal with Paramount was finalized.
