Former Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Beltran (Chakotay) is set to make a guest appearance in an upcoming instalment of CSI: Miami.

Beltran will play Judge Ojeda in the twenty-second episode of the forensic science show's freshman season, entitled "Tinder Box", CSI Files reported. CBS is scheduled to air the episode at 10:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5.

Written by Corey Miller, "Tinder Box" centres around a fire in a nightclub which kills 16 people. Beltran's character is involved in the episode's B-plot, in which lead CSI Horatio Caine conducts an investigation into the death of a prostitute found in Ojeda's bathroom.

"Tinder Box" has two other science fiction connections. Charlie Correll, who served as cinematographer on Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, directed the episode, while Ben Browder, best known as John Crichton on Farscape, will play a character called Danny.

In addition to his seven years on Star Trek: Voyager, Robert Beltran's credits include the title role in Eating Raoul and appearances in Bugsy, Models Inc. and Nixon. In 2000, he starred with Scott Bakula (Jonathan Archer) in Luminarias.

CSI: Miami, the spin-off of the highly-successful series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, debuted in fall 2002 and has since become the top-rated new series on television. The series stars former NYPD Blue actor David Caruso, Emily Procter (The West Wing) and Adam Rodriguez (Roswell).
