'Mission: Impossible 2' Premieres

Ronald & Ruby Moore - courtesy Albert L. Ortega Albert L. Ortega at the Mothership has put up a report of the official 'Mission: Impossible 2' premiere, which took place on the 18th of June in Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Present at the event were of course people such as main star Tom Cruise and director John Woo, but also Brannon Braga, former 'Voyager' executive producer, and Ronald D. Moore, former DS9 staff writer, who wrote the film's original story.

The report contains photos of the arrival of both people - Ron Moore and his wife Ruby, who were actually the first to arrive at the premiere, and Brannon Braga and his girlfriend Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine). Unfortunately the report doesn't mention if Moore and Braga spoke with each other at the premiere, which would have been interesting to know, considering the rumoured bad blood that was created between them following Ron Moore's short-lived stint on the 'Voyager' writing staff last year. In any case, you can find the full report by going here.

The Mothership also has a report on the unusual mid-week opening for 'Mission: Impossible 2', during which it managed to rank as the fourt highest such opening in history, behind 'Star Wars Episode One' and the two Jurassic Parks. The film took in a very respectable $12.5 million during its first day in rotation.

Finally, if you're looking for more information on 'MI: 2' director John Woo, be sure to check out Bullet in the Web, an unofficial web site by regular TrekToday contributor Jeff 'Koganuts' Koga.
