StarTrek.com, the official Star Trek web site, has been updated with a report on the recent appearance by Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) on 'Late Night With Conan O'Brien'. Ryan was on the show to promote 'Unimatrix Zero', the Voyager season finale which of course aired on Wednesday. On the show, Ryan revealed she would be getting her first kiss on the show, and when O'Brien incredulously asked how it was possible that the probably most attractive woman on TV only now got her kiss, and who actually writes the show, Ryan answered as follows:
O'Brien wanted to know if a jealous boyfriend writer/producer might explain why her character has no emotions and finds humans repellant. She answered, "I do think that he might have gone sort of in cahoots with our caterer, because there was an awful lot of garlic on the set that day -- garlic chicken, garlic pasta, garlic bread, garlic everything." She acknowledged that Braga was on the set for the kissing scene, and "he was very good about it," even though he and everyone else reeked of garlic that afternoon, which he may or may not have had something to do with. O'Brien said he would have done the same thing if it were him.
"My boyfriend, actually," Ryan replied, eliciting a wide-eyed smirk from Conan and a big laugh from the audience. "Which might have a little to do with it." She was referring to Executive Producer Brannon Braga, who co-wrote the teleplay for this week's episode.
A bit more on this appearance, as well as a look at some of her earlier visits to Conan O'Brien, can be found in the full report.
If you'd prefer seeing it for yourself, SciFi Headquarters has put up a digitised clip of her part of the show, available as a 7.3 MB Real G2 video. You can find it here on that site.
And finally, as a reminder, the Official Jeri Lynn Ryan Homepage has put up a collection of screencaps from the episode, which the picture you see above is also part of.
