Orci And Kurtzman May Pass On Transformers Sequel

1 min read

The screenwriting team of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman may not return for Transformers 3, according to postings by Orci on donmurphy.net.

As reported by Slashfilm, from postings at donmurphy.net in answer to a posting asking if Orci and Kurtzman would “seriously think about staying on” for Transformers 3, Orci replied that it was “time for fresh blood.”
Orci explained why the time might be right to do so. “Not clear who is coming back yet,” he said, “but the main reason we would move on is because we risk getting stale and comfortable. If you only sing one song for too long, you miss the opportunity to sing news songs. We’ll see.”

Another familiar name from Star Trek XI was mentioned in regard to Transformers 3. Leonard Nimoy‘s name had come up as a possibility for providing the voice of “The Fallen,” but it appears unlikely that he will voice the villain. “I actually talked to [Nimoy] about it,” said Orci, “given the odd coincidence that he is Michael Bay‘s cousin through marriage, but fan outcry has also put [Frank] Welker in the running.”
