Clark Savage, Jr., known as Doc Savage, was a forerunner of Superman, with near-superhuman abilities. Savage was a “physician, surgeon, scientist, adventurer, inventor, explorer, researcher, musician and martial arts master,” who was raised from birth to fight evil.

The original story will supposedly be set in the 1930s. The Fabulous Five, a group of men with talents of their own who helped Doc Savage fight evildoers, will also be included.

Update:  Collider.com is reporting that Kurtzman and Orci will NOT be producing the film, but it will be produced by Neil Moritz and Ori Marmur.
