Sir Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart is due to be knighted in the New Year’s Honours List.

According to The Mirror,  Stewart, best-known to Star Trek fans for his role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be knighted for his services to drama.

Stewart has an admirer in the Queen, who according to Palace sources is a huge fan of the sixty-nine-year old actor.

“It’s a fantastic accolade for a fantastic actor,” said an observer.
