CES 2010 Offers A Bit of Trek

Attendees at the 2010 Consumer Electronic show who are Star Trek fans are in for a special treat.

CES 2010 will be held in Las Vegas from January 7-January 10 and amongst the displays is one that will be of interest to Star Trek fans, the Captain’s chair from Star Trek XI, courtesy of Dolby.

All CES attendees are invited to sit in the Captain’s chair, located at the Dolby booth in Central Hall #9827, and to take photos if they’re so inclined. In addition to the chair, there will be models of  Star Trek ships to be seen.

CES is held to promote and interact with the products and technologies shaping the consumer technology world, according to a press release from the Consumer Electronics Association, a trade association who produces CES.

This year’s guest list includes Drew Carey, Shannon Miller (Olympic gymnast who received seven Olympic medals), actress Soleil Moon Frye, comic book writer Stan Lee,  and author James Patterson as well as various other actors and sports celebrities.

Two guests will be of special interest to Star Trek fans. LeVar Burton and Brent Spiner will be in attendance on Saturday, January 10 and will be able to be found on the show floor.
