Pine In Talks For Welcome To People
1 min readLast month, TrekToday reported on Alex Kurtzman‘s first film directing job, Welcome to People; and now word comes that Chris Pine is in talks for the lead role in the movie.
Welcome to People was written by Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jody Lambert, and is the story “of a struggling twenty-something man who, after flying home to L.A. for the funeral of his estranged record-producer father, discovers that the will stipulates that he must deliver $150,000 in cash to a 30-year-old alcoholic sister he never knew existed, and her troubled twelve-year-old son. Determined to keep the money to solve his own problems, he’s nonetheless fascinated by his unknown kin and makes contact with the two without revealing who he really is.”
Pine is currently filming FOX’s This Means War and will next appear in November in the Fox thriller Unstoppable.
