Koenig Walk of Fame Star Celebration

1 min read

Walter Koenig‘s induction onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame will take place this September and details on the celebration plus a video congratulating the actor have been released.

On September 8, the last of Star Trek’s seven regular cast members will get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the day will begin with a trek down that Walk of Fame with Koenig to locate every star involved with Star Trek.

Koenig will then appear on stage at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre to introduce his favorite Star Trek movie and episode. He will introduce the screenings and give his insights and behind-the-scenes anecdotes and then he will participate in an audience Q&A. The screening will be followed by a Star Trek panel.

The evening entertainment will continue in the Egyptian Theater courtyard, where fans can mingle with their favorite stars, with music provided by the Star Trek All-Star Celebrity Band.

On Sunday, September 9th, more panels will focus on Koenig’s career and there will be autograph sessions and more at the Beverly Garland Hotel. A cocktail hour and dinner party will take place that evening that will feature a “once-in-lifetime star-studded” celebrity Roast and Gala.

Finally, on Monday, September 10, Koenig and his family will be at the induction ceremony at the Walk of Fame. The induction ceremony is open to the general public.

  1. Congratulations, Walter. It’s about time you got your due on the Walk of Fame.

Incidentally, maybe you recall a live radio show you and I did together on “The Al Malmberg” show on WCC Radio in Minneapolis in September 1998. It was in conjunction with the announcment that a U. S. postage stamp honoring “Star Trek” would finally be issued after a 13-year campaign that I had spearheaded. I still have an audio tape of that show.

  2. Congratulations, Walter on your Hollywood Star! It’s been long in coming and it is about time. Hope all is well.

  3. I liked the video dedication with such actors as Gary Lockwood, Michael Forest, Barbara Bouchet, Barbara Luna, Malachi Throne, Gary Graham, Richard Hatch, Herbert Jefferson, Jr, Alan Ruck, Chase Masterson, and the surviving members of the original series congratulating Walter on receiving this awesome award.

It would have been better if Vic Mignogna’s portion had been edited out. I wasn’t too thrilled with John Broughton’s and Jack Marshall’s segments, either.

  4. Did Shatner get a new toupee?

It looks like the one he wore in Star Trek V?
