Pine: Working On Trek Like Summer Camp
1 min readFor Chris Pine, working on Star Trek 2 was like being at summer camp, and getting paid for it.
Part of the enjoyment of working on Star Trek 2 was knowing that the writers have written a good story. “The great thing that Alex [Kurtzman], Bob [Orci], Damon [Lindelof] and J.J. [Abrams] are good at is marrying small character driven films with big blockbuster action,” said Pine.
“I think that is the thing that sets them apart from other filmmakers in that genre,” said Pine.
Working with his fellow actors was a pleasure for Pine, who compared the experience to being at summer camp. “This is no hyperbole – I love everyone that I get to make that film with,” he said. “I love all my cast mates. It’s like camp that you get paid for.
“You can’t ask for a better gig. The new one is just as exciting if not bigger than the first.”
Every interview I have seen of Chris Pine, he seems to be one of the most gracious gentlemen ever. I’m glad he plays Captain Kirk.
