Shimerman On Castle

1 min read

ABC’s Castle will feature a Comic-Con type episode this fall, guest-starring Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Armin Shimerman.

The episode will be directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Jonathan Frakes.

In the episode, Shimerman will appear as Benjamin Donnely, a “tech geek who manufactures authentic props for costumers at sci-fi conventions.” The tech geek is a “little too eager to show Beckett (Stana Katic) how all his guns work.”

Firefly‘s Nathan Fillion, who appears as Richard Castle in the series joins Beckett at the convention to investigate the murder of a fan. They meet up with former sci-fi star Gabriel Winters (Ed Quinn), who spends days at conventions and nights “having drunken one-night stands” after his “cult-favorite” show Nebula 9 was cancelled.

The Comic-Con episode will air later this fall. Castle, currently in its fifth season, can be seen on ABC Monday nights at 10 PM.

  1. It’s amazing that you don’t even mention that “Cassidy Yates” is the regular police captain -and was all last season- on CASTLE. Your also fail to mention that WORF” is Detective Beckett’s SHRINK on CASTLE. You’ve also failed to mention that “Jordi LaForge” is a professor – and a regular cast member on “PERCEPTION.” It’s strange how you seem to randomly choose 1 appearance by a Star Trek actor seemingly out-of-the-blue and highlight them.

  2. Well I’d never heard of CASTLE before this ARTICLE.
I am however GLAD to hear that JONATHAN FRAKES is still WORKING after the DEBACLE known AS “Thunderbirds”.
NOW I shall INDULGE myself in arbitrarily capitalizing SOME words FOR no particular REASON.

  3. I don’t watch the show (obviously). Had I known they were on it, I’d have gladly included that information.

The Burton appearance on another show is a different issue.

Next time, I’ll pay more attention to IMDB when I’m getting background info on a show that I don’t watch. I usually just get a description of the show (for those who don’t usually watch) and then don’t include anything other than the relevant actor/actress. But I can see that in future it would be useful to make sure no other Trek alums are on the show.

Thanks for the feedback. BTW – if you ever know of guest appearances, shoot us a link. I’ll happily credit you for the tip.

  4. Frakes is a busy TV director. Burn Notice with the Bruce is one show he works on regularly

Another recent Castle guest was Nana Visitor, who appeared in an episode earlier this year called An Embarrassment of Bitches. It was a dog of an episode….

    (Sorry. I couldn’t help it)
