This July, the Houston Symphony will accompany two Trek movies during its annual Symphony Summer in the City series of indoor concerts.

The two Trek movies to be screened will be Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek into Darkness.

The production “[pairs] the rebooted space saga with live orchestra,” and will take place during two consecutive evenings; July 18 for Star Trek (2009), and July 19 for Star Trek into Darkness. Each concert begins at 7:30 PM at Jones Hall.

Other concerts in the summer indoor series feature “singer-songwriter Ben Folds, a night of video-game music, a mariachi band and a Led Zeppelin tribute, along with a previously announced bluegrass concert by comedian-turned-banjo-player Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers.”

Tickets for the two concerts will go on sale to the general public on April 1. For more information on this and the entire Symphony Summer in the City series of concerts, head to the link located here.

  1. I would love to go to this, but I unfortunately don’t live in Houston and can’t get there in time.
