Greenwood Cast In Truth
1 min readStar Trek into Darkness‘ Bruce Greenwood has been cast in Truth, the story of the scandal that tarnished News Anchor Dan Rather‘s reputation.
Truth is based on Mary Mapes‘ memoir Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power. Mapes was Dan Rather’s producer.
In Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power, a story about special treatment provided to George W. Bush during his Air National Guard Days in the Vietnam War era turns out to be false when some of the documents on which the story was based are suspected forgeries.
The resulting fallout results in the firing of Mapes, and damage to Rather’s reputation.
Robert Redford will be playing Rather, with Cate Blanchett playing Mapes. Greenwood will be taking on the role of Andrew Heyward, president of CBS News, and the man responsible for firing Mapes.
Truth will begin shooting in Australia shortly.
I actually miss Dan Rather. So sad how his career ended.
Gunga Dan was always good for a laugh. “What is the frequency, Kenneth?”
Actually, the story about George W is true. The documents were faked, but there are no records of him ever doing anything in the National Guard and he was in fact AWOL.
I miss “Context and Perspective.”
Yes, “fake but accurate”, as they so straight-facedly told us at the time.
The document was fake. The information contained in the document was true. Sorry your tiny brain can’t comprehend that.
I don’t think comprehension is at issue here. The “context and perspective” of this matter is that a journalist used forged documents and portrayed them as authentic in order to substantiate the accuracy of his report.
This is true. It’s also true that George W. Bush was AWOL.
Yes, the document was true even though it was faked. I remember hearing that too. “The charge is true because we say so, pay no attention to the fact our documentation is a forgery.”
I’ll let you think about it and ponder the reason that Dan Rather found himself out on his ass, genius.
There’s plenty more evidence than that document that lying traitor George W. Bush was AWOL. There’s statements by the people who were there that he never was. There’s the fact that people who read the document said yep, that’s all perfectly true. But you go ahead and just deny all that.
I guess if I handed you a document and said “Albert Einstein wrote this!” and it said “2+2=4” and then I said, nope, Einstein didn’t write it, you’d believe 2+2=5. That’s about the level of intelligence I’ve come to expect from filth like you.
Yes, I know, all the fake but accurate information that’s fit to print.
Pro-tip: When you want people to listen to your argument, try not to forge the evidence. They’ll tend not to believe much of what you tell them on the subject after that.
Hope you’re having a good night, sucker. 😉
If you want people to believe George W. Bush wasn’t AWOL, try to present some witnesses who saw him where he was supposed to be. If you can’t do that, then maybe you shouldn’t assume other people care what you have to say.
I hope your mom isn’t keeping her legs crossed against you.
^^^ Portrait of a loser.
^^^Portrait of an ant-American scumbag. You are living proof that methwhores should be required to get an abortion. I hope you’re raped to death.
