Back in October, TrekToday reported that Benedict Cumberbatch was in talks to star in Doctor Strange.

Today Marvel has confirmed that Cumberbatch will indeed take on the role.

Doctor Strange “will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.”

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange will be released on November 4, 2016.

  1. I see what you did there. ZING! But seriously, I think this is a great choice. I was never a fan of his comics but I’m looking forward to this movie.
