Pine To Announce Academy Award Nominees

Chris Pine will be one of the persons announcing some of the nominees for the 87th Academy Awards.
Also taking part in the announcement will be J.J. Abrams and Gravity Filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón.
Taking place on January 15 at 5:38 AM PT, the announcement will feature the three plus Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. This year, for the first time, the nominees for twenty-four categories will be announced, instead of the usual twelve celebrity and movie categories that have been announced in the past. Pine and Isaacs’ announcement will include the nominees for:

- Best Actress
- Best Supporting Actor
- Best Supporting Actress
- Cinematography
- Costume Design
- Directing
- Foreign Language Film
- Makeup and Hairstyling
- Original Score
- Adapted Screenplay
- Original Screenplay
- Best Picture
Abrams and Cuarón will announce the nominees for:
- Animated Feature Film
- Documentary Feature
- Documentary Short Subject
- Film Editing
- Original Song
- Production Design
- Animated Short Film
- Live Action Short Film
- Sound Editing
- Sound Mixing
- Visual Effects
The 87th Academy Awards will take place February 22.
