Takei On StarTalk
1 min readGeorge Takei will be appearing on Neil deGrasse Tyson‘s new late night series StarTalk next month.
StarTalk is set to debut on the National Geographic Channel on April 20.
On StarTalk, Tyson is “expected to explore the many ways science and technology have influenced the life of his guests. After conducting the private one-on-one interview with the main guest, Tyson and a group of panelists, which will include a comedian co-host and various ‘influencers,’ will sit before a live studio audience at the American Museum of Natural History’s Rose Center for Earth and Space in New York City and chew over the topic of the week. Nye will offer perspective via a pre-taped segment.”
Takei will be the first guest on the new show, which will air on the NGC at 11 PM. Takei and Tyson will discuss “Star Trek as an inspiration for the future.”
Other guests scheduled to appear in the early weeks of the show include Charles Bolden, Richard Dawkins, Former President Jimmy Carter, Chris Hadfield, Ariana Huffington, Biz Stone, Norman Lear, and Christopher Nolan.
The hour-length show, based on Tyson’s podcast of the same name, will air weekly.
To anyone who’s never listened to it: The podcast is pretty interesting, if you like Tyson as a personality, and I recommend it to anyone who has a passing interest in science and space exploration in general. http://www.startalkradio.net/
That being said, I have no idea how well it’ll translate as a TV show. But I can think of worse ways to spend time in front of the TV. I’m looking forward to it.
The heads-up is appreciated, T’Bonz.
Not a fan of Tyson since his trolling tweets of a few months ago.
