Shatner To Appear At Comic-Con
1 min readWilliam Shatner will be beaming in to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
The actor will appear on the opening day of the event, which will be Thursday, July 9.
Shatner will be reading excerpts from The Autobiography of James T. Kirk, a book which “chronicles the greatest Starfleet captain’s life (2233–2371), in his own words. From his birth on the U.S.S. Kelvin, his youth spent on Tarsus IV, his time in the Starfleet Academy, his meteoric raise through the ranks of Starfleet, and his illustrious career at the helm of the Enterprise, this in-world memoir uncovers Captain Kirk in a way Star Trek fans have never seen. Kirk’s singular voice rings throughout the text, giving insight into his convictions, his bravery, and his commitment to the life—in all forms—throughout this Galaxy and beyond. Excerpts from his personal correspondence, captain’s logs, and more give Kirk’s personal narrative further depth.”
Written by David Goodman, who will be moderating the reading, the book will be released in September, but advance copies of the book will be available at Titan Book‘s booth (#5537).
For those who can’t make it to Comic Con, the book will sell for $18.62 on Amazon, and can be preordered here.
First question by a fanboy in the audience in a junior high-like fashion circa 1979 playground: Captain, why is Sulu so gay?
Opening day for the con is actually July 8th,when they have their Preview Night. It’s not a full day though,so I guess that’s why everyone assumes the con is from July 9th till July 12th.
I’m going by the Titan booth anyways,so might have to check this book out. Sounds like fun.
