Meaney In Talks For McGuinness Role

Colm Meaney is in “advanced talks” for a starring film role of Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.

The role would be in the film The Journey.

In The Journey, a fictional journey taken by late First Minister Ian Paisley (Timothy Spall) and McGuinness leads to friendship.

Meaney had supported McGuinness in his attempt to become President of Ireland in 2011.

The Journey is being written by Colin Bateman. It will be produced and directed by Mark Huffam, Piers Tempest, and Nick Hamm.

Filming is expected to begin on The Journey next month.
