Star Trek/Archie Comic Crossover

1 min read

At the end of this year, IDW Publishing will do eight crossover comic covers featuring the Archies.

One of those comics, Star Trek #52, will include one of those Archie tribute covers.

The tribute covers are being done in honor of the seventy-fifth anniversary of Archie Comics.

“We have a long-standing and wonderful partnership with the great people at IDW,” said Archie Comics Publisher/CEO John Goldwater. “It makes perfect sense to team with them to celebrate this epic anniversary and invite so many beloved, timeless properties to the party.”

“Archie Comics’ contribution to the world of pop culture is staggering,” said IDW President, Greg Goldstein. “They publish one of the most important and iconic brands in history and they do it in a way that makes everyone smile. IDW is pleased and proud to celebrate this milestone with these classic characters with covers that pay tribute to Archie’s special history.”

Expect the special variant Archie Star Trek cover in December.

  1. At last! The only thing better would be a crossover with Casper the Friendly Ghost – which is doubtless on IDW’s radar given their devotion to quality use of the Trek license.

  2. So much for the Gold Key comics being the low point for the Star Trek franchise in comic books. nnnNext up, a crossover with another IDW title: My Little Pony.

  3. Is it April 1st already? This is getting more and more ridiculous! And I thought the Planet of the Apes crossover was a stupid idea. What next? Magic Pony or Spongebob?n
