Johnson Passes
1 min readScience fiction Author/Screenwriter George Clayton Johnson has died at the age of eighty-six of cancer.
Johnson was the author of the first Trek episode to air on television, The Man Trap.
Best known for his story Logan’s Run, written with William F. Nolan, Johnson wrote several Twilight Zone episodes, including Nothing in the Dark, Kick the Can, A Game of Pool, Ninety Years Without Slumbering, Execution, The Four of Us Are Dying, and A Penny for Your Thoughts.
“I want to be remembered as a person who early on in his life took control of his life and set goals,” said Johnson in a 2003 interview. “When people gave me a lined paper, I wrote the other way. When people expect some certain behavior from me, I will frustrate their expectations.”
Johnson is survived by a wife, daughter son, and a half-sister.
