Frakes Joins Guardians Of The Galaxy

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Jonathan Frakes will take on a guest star role in Disney XD‘s animated Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians of the Galaxy is based on the Marvel Comics Guardians of the Galaxy team. This team, which consists of Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot; are on the hunt for a “Cosmic Seed,” which is a powerful weapon that could be used to threaten the universe.
Frakes will take on the role of J’Son, king of the Spartax Galactic Empire and father to Star-Lord.
“I’m thrilled to be part of another great sci-fi franchise,” said Frakes. “And I’m also lucky that the character of J’Son just happens to sound like me.”
Frakes’ episode will air March 13 at 8 AM ET/PT on Disney XD.
