Russ To Star In Sci Fest L.A. Play

1 min read

Star Trek: Voyager‘s Tim Russ will be starring in Prayerville, a play written by Grammy winning songwriter Janis Ian at this year’s Sci Fest L.A.

Russ will take on the role of Tomajanski, a retired Global Alliance Army Major, who “in his younger days, ran wild through the galaxy. Now, sick and getting sicker, Tomajanski hopes to turn the once-honorable duty of returning the bodily remains of dead aliens into a for-profit business.”

“It’s important to me to support Sci-Fest L.A. because I am a fan of science fiction, and because it’s live theater,” said Russ. “And small- to medium-sized theater needs all the help it can get here in Los Angeles.”

“The role of Tomajanski was interesting to me because of the character’s contrast to [the virtues of spirituality, sacrifice and honor],” said Russ. “He is an outwardly brash and arrogant character, lacking a moral compass…and he physically suffers for it.”

Sci Fest L.A. runs from today through May 29. For more information and to purchase tickets, head to the link located here.
