For Rihanna, creating a song for Star Trek Beyond wasn’t just another job; it was a labor of love.

“I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I was honored to be a part of this film.”

Rihanna has been a Trek fan for years. “Star Trek has been a part of my life since I was a little girl,” she said. “My dad is really the one who introduced me to Star Trek. It just took me one episode to fall in love with this world that I couldn’t understand but I felt like I could relate to.

“So it wasn’t just doing another song for any random film. I love Star Trek!”
