Two Star Trek comics will be released in September; Star Trek New Visions Special: Swarm, and Star Trek: Waypoint #1.
In Star Trek New Visions Special: Swarm, “an alien threat…numbers in the millions, and star systems are already dying. What can the crew of the Enterprise do, alone?”
Written and with photo-manipulation by John Byrne, this fifty-two page issue will sell for $7.99.
Star Trek: Waypoint #1 is the first issue of a “blockbuster bi-monthly anthology to celebrate fifty years of Star Trek, featuring short stories across all Treks, by the top talent of today and yesterday!”
Two stories will be in this inaugural issue; the first one a The Next Generation story by Donny Cates and Mack Chater. In this tale, “unable to decipher a mysterious ship’s coded messages, Starfleet has enlisted its two greatest scientific minds, Captain Geordi La Forge and his best friend Data, to investigate. What they discover will alter the course of scientific human history as we know it!”
In the second story, by Sandra Lanz, “a crewmember, stranded on a strange planet, encounters a bizarre alien creature. They must learn how to interact, but how?”
The forty-page issue will sell for $4.99.
