Trek World Reacts To Yelchin’s Death

Yesterday, the shocking news of Anton Yelchin‘s death was released and his fellow actors are pouring out their emotions via social media.
Paramount released a statement, saying that “all of us at Paramount join the world in morning the untimely passing of Anton Yelchin. As a member of the Star Trek family, he was beloved by so many and he will missed by all. We share our deepest condolences with his mother, father and family.”
J.J. Abrams, via Bad Robot, said “Anton – You were brilliant. You were kind. You were funny as hell, and supremely talented. And you weren’t here nearly long enough. Missing you.”
Director Justin Lin was “still in shock. Rest in peace, Anton,” he said. “Your passion and enthusiasm will live on with everyone that had the pleasure of knowing you.”
Zachary Quinto said, “Our dear friend. our comrade. our Anton. one of the most open and intellectually curious people I have ever had the pleasure to know. So enormously talented and generous of heart. Wise beyond his years. and gone before his time. all love and strength to his family at this impossible time of grief.”
“I can’t believe it,” said Karl Urban. “I’m fckn hurting bad!”
John Cho said, “I loved Anton Yelchin so much. He was a true artist – curious, beautiful, courageous. He was a great pal and a great son. I’m in ruins.”
“Devastated by our friend’s loss,” said Zoe Saldana. “We are mourning his passing and celebrating the beautiful spirit that he was. #RIPAnton.”
Star Trek Beyond guest star Sofia Boutella said “Anton Yelchin was one of the brightest, most inquisitive, loving, special & unique person I’ve ever met, I loved him so much. I am in pieces.”
“Anton Yelchin Dies at 27. This is heartbreaking,” said Joseph Gatt. We had so much fun on @StarTrekMovie into Darkness. RIP brother.”
Actors from other Trek series also expressed their shock and pain at the news. “Sad news for such a talented young man,” said William Shatner. “Condolences to the family of Anton Yelchin.”
“Saddened by the tragic loss of a talented, well-loved young actor,” said Robert Picardo. “Peace to Anton and comfort to his loved ones.”
“RIP #AntonYelchin family member gone too soon,” said Jonathan Frakes.
Michael Dorn was “hoping this wasn’t true. Such a talented young actor,” he said, “taken way too soon. Very sad.”
“In Germany and heard news about Anton,” said Gates McFadden. “Terrible, awful news. seems unfathomable!! cannot imagine how difficult for his loved ones.”
“What a tragedy, my heart goes out to Anton Yelchin’s family and loved ones,” said Terry Farrell.
“Anton Yelchin was a superb actor,” said Rick Berman. “I’ve seen a great deal of his work. What an extremely tragic accident.”
“My heart goes out to Anton’s family,” said Nana Visitor. “My God.”
“Shocked and saddened at the death of Anton Yelchin,” said Michael Okuda. “I’m SO done with 2016.”
“Rest in Peace, Mr. Yelchin,” said Bryan Fuller.
“Of all the #StarTrek passings to be braced for, #RIPAntonYelchin was not on the list,” said Larry Nemecek. “What a loss for his family, fans & his future work.”
“So sad to hear this news,” said composer Michael Giacchino.
Chris Doohan: I am so saddened by the death of Anton Yelchin. He was an amazing person. He always made me feel at home on the set.”
Adam Nimoy: “Heartbreaking to hear the news today about Anton. An incredible talent, lost much too soon. He will be missed.”
