Five IDW Publishing Trek-themed comics will be released in October. The comics include: Star Trek: Boldly Go #13, Star Trek: Waypoint, Star Trek: TNG: Mirror Broken #5, Star Trek: New Visions: What Pain It Is To Drown, and Star Trek: Discovery #1!

Star Trek: Boldly Go #13 is “part 1 of a 6-issue mega-event: I.D.I.C!” In this issue, “scores of realities collide as ‘Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations’ takes on a new meaning for Captain Kirk and his crew…with the fate of all realities at stake!”

Written by Mike Johnson and featuring art by Tony Shasteen, and covers by Shasteen, Tana Ford, and Yoshi Yoshitani, Boldly Go #13 will be thirty-two pages in length and will cost $3.99.

Next up is Star Trek: Waypoint. In this anthology series, every fan is offered “a stopping point on the wonderful fifty-year Star Trek journey. Reflect on stories of what’s come before and look ahead to the next half-century of Trek. Short stories that run the gamut of Star Trek’s history, set during the Original Series, The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, Enterprise, and more, featuring all your favorite characters.”

Written by Dayton Ward, Sam Maggs, Cecil Castellucci, Rachael Stott, Donny Cates, Sandra Lanz, Kevin Dilmore, and Mairghread Scott; Star Trek: Waypoint features art by Gordon Purcell, Megan Levens, and Corin Howell; and a cover by Marc Laming.

The one-hundred-and-forty-four page issue will sell for $19.99.

In Star Trek: TNG: Mirror Broken #5, the “newly stolen I.S.S. Enterprise-D [is] caught between the forces of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance and a trio of Imperial warships [and] Jean-Luc Picard finds himself in unexpected territory. Which will crack first, his untested vessel, or an untested crew?”

Written by Scott and David Tipton, with art by J.K. Woodward, and covers by Woodward, George Caltsoudas, and Rachael Stott, Mirror Broken #5 will be thirty-two pages in length and will sell for $3.99.

The fourth IDW Publishing Trek comic release for October is Star Trek: New Visions: What Pain It Is To Drown. In this issue, the USS Enterprise is “pulled down to a world made entirely of water, [and] is in danger of literally flooding – while Spock and McCoy discover a sinister purpose behind this bizarre planet.”

Star Trek: New Visions: What Pain It Is To Drown is written by, and features art and photo-manipulation by John Byrne.

And now we come to Star Trek: Discovery #1! Written by Mike Johnson and Kirsten Beyer, and featuring art by Tony Shasteen, and covers by Shasteen and J.K. Woodward, fans can “warp into adventure with this new comic book series that ties into the new Star Trek television show premiering in late September on CBS All Access in the U.S., the Space channel in Canada and Netflix throughout the rest of the world! Details remain secretive so we can’t show you covers yet, but we can tell you that you won’t want to miss this very special Klingon-centric series. Be prepared for action, adventure, and Star Trek at its best!”

According to Bleeding Cool, each issue will “also feature a ‘ships of the line’ cover by Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire, giving a full first look at the new ships of the Discovery series.”

Thirty-two pages in length, Star Trek: Discovery #1 will sell for $3.99. Look for it on October 25.
