Sydney Film Music Festival Includes Star Trek

1 min read

This autumn’s Sydney Film Music Festival: Star Trek – The Ultimate Voyage will offer concertgoers the chance to listen to a full symphony orchestra while seeing classic television and film scenes.

The Ultimate Voyage brings together fifty years of sound and vision from Star Trek‘s film and TV history, with clips and scores from the original series and newer fan favorites. Ridley Scott‘s 2000 classic Gladiator will be bought to life with Hans Zimmer‘s Oscar winning score performed simultaneously alongside. The music of Dreamworks‘ kid friendly classics like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon will bought to life on the closing day of the festival.

“‘Music provides the emotional heartbeat of film and to bring together the two worlds to create an even greater experience for the senses is a real privilege,’ said Curator Scott Mesiti.

“We look forward to this becoming an annual event to bring together the music and cinematic worlds in a celebration of emotion and humanity through the mediums.”

Tickets for the Sydney Film Music Festival will go on sale later this month.
