Westmore To Appear On Nemecek’s Portal 47
2 min readFans of Michael Westmore will be interested in attending Portal 47‘s spring “Open House” on May 16.
“Michael Westmore, whose alien makeups through eighteen years of Star Trek series and films won him of five of nine Emmy Awards alongside his 1985 Oscar for Mask, is the guest on May 16.” The event starts at 7 PM Pacific (10 PM DST).
Portal 47, founded by Larry Nemecek (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, Stellar Cartography maps/book set, The Trek Files podcast, etc.), offers “an insider’s guide to more in-depth Trek, with ten various features and two live annual opportunities. Typically for guest night, the focus is on the crew and creatives of all stripes, who seldom if ever get to share their stories with fans — and there are so many!” Portal 47 is a subscription service, costing $27.00 per month.
“We like to say Portal 47 is for fans who have no idea how much Star Trek they have no idea about,” said Nemecek, “a twenty-five-year veteran of the franchise. That includes archives, discounts, and other features — including the Ask Dr. Trek Roundtable, live and online twice a month too, as well as guest night. The live events are all recorded, as well.
“Once or twice a year, we like to open the Portal to Trek fans everywhere and share our biggest monthly live experience, our Guest Telebriefing, with a major Trek creative in the spotlight,” says Nemecek.
“And no one has more insights and stories of that amazing Trek run that [Westmore] — who’s also just about the ‘nicest guy’ in Hollywood. He really does care about the fans and the show, and always has.”
To join the virtual live event, sign up at Portal 47 to reserve your place. Once signed up, fans can “pre-submit questions that Nemecek will pose in their name.”
